A Note from the Principal, Lakasha Lee                       January 8, 2026

Happy New Year HAWK FAMILIES!!!

It is our hope you enjoyed the break! We were excited to welcome each of our Hawks back to school. We resumed learning as usual, with high expectations for academics and behavior. With the start of the second semester, please continue to partner with us to ensure your child is ready for school each day by arriving on time and coming prepared to learn as we continue to Inspire Success in Every Student.

As a reminder, my weekly principal’s note will be posted on the first and third Thursdays of each month. You will continue to receive updates, information, and notification relevant to all things Ison Springs from your child’s teacher on a weekly basis. Continue to stay connected through our various communication platforms: Thursday Red Folders, PBIS Rewards, Principal’s Note, Ison Springs Elementary School website, and X (@IsonSpringsES).

ALL IN ON ATTENDANCE – New Year, Fresh Start

A new semester is a chance to recommit to excellent attendance. Every school day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and prepare for success.

Attending school regularly in January sets a pattern—students who attend 90% or more this month are more likely to meet year-end goals.

The late bell rings at 7:40AM. Students should be in their classroom ready to learn at that time.

Please complete the attendance form when your child is absent.

Report Cards are Coming!

You can view your child’s first semester report card through Campus Parent on Friday, January 16th. All parents have access to the Parent Portal. If you have not created an account, please visit the Infinite Campus Parent Portal website.

Recurring School Information

Lost and Found

Are you looking for your child’s coat/jacket, sweater, water bottle, or lunchbox?  Come check out our lost and found location in the hall between the cafeteria and gym. You will be asked to show your ID upon entering the building. If you have not done so, please be sure to label all personal items with your child’s first and last name. We appreciate your support!

Emergency/Fire Lane

We need your continued help and cooperation with parking. The Fire Marshal’s Office has asked us to remind motorists that it is illegal to park in any Fire Lane on school district property at any time as it is a safety issue for emergency vehicle access. Violators who park illegally in a Fire Lane on school property are subject to a fine. Thank you for your understanding in keeping safety paramount for our school community.

Early Check-outs

Our dismissal begins at 2:20pm. Early checkouts must be completed before 1:45 pm. Please make every effort to avoid early checkouts, if possible. Our instructional day does not end until 2:15 pm. Teachers and support staff are working with our students from bell-to-bell to maximize teaching and learning.

Birthday Celebrations

Dropping off or sending in birthday treats is prohibited. Our Cafeteria may provide (at a cost to the parent) frozen treats. The price is $1.00 each for your child, and their class. All treats are big 9 allergen-free, unless indicated. There are a variety of flavors and a non-dairy option. The birthday treat meets USDA requirements for smart snacks in school. Be sure to sign-up and pay for this convenience in the cafeteria or order online: https://nutrition.fultonschools.org/CafeTakeout.

Also, you can make your child’s birthday extra special by putting their name in the lights on our marquee! For just $10, we will wish your child “Happy Birthday” on the marquee in front of the school.

Messages will run all day for friends and family to see. Purchases must be made 2 weeks prior to your child’s birthday.
